As one church in multiple locations, we are keenly aware of the importance of pastoral care, since caring for each other is intrinsic to authentic Christian community and the heart and character of God. Christ proclaims in John 13:34-35 “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Networks of pastoral care are established in each of our communities, so that we may live out our motto of pastoral care being for everyone, by everyone.

Fellowship group that meets including devotional and morning tea. 1 st and 3rd Tuesdays 10.00am to 11.30am

A Christian fellowship group for men and women of all ages.

Relax in pleasant company while morning tea is served to you.

1 st Wednesday of the month 9.30am to 12pm in the Mt Gravatt Centre Basement

A group who meets to support and share each other’s company and experiences. Our main activity is collecting, making and packing Samaritan Purses at Christmas time. 2 nd Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12pm at the Yeronga Centre

Pray for Me

This year we will be joining the Pray for Me campaign. This invites young people and families to elect to be prayed for, and for adults from across the generations in the church choose to pray for them. Those who are praying will receive a book which will help them to pray for the young person or family every day. If you would like to be involved the will be sign on sheets at the church, or follow this link to sign in online.

Ps. Richard Moors is our Children's, Youth and Families Pastor and works alongside our Communities and leaders in developing appropriate and life-giving ministry for children, families and youth.

All our people who work with children and youth BlueCard Verified with the Queensland Government and undergo regular Safe Ministry with Children with the Presbytery of South Moreton.

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual Growth covers key elements of the life of the Christian Church, including discipleship, bible studies, developing spiritual leaders and identifying people who have a calling on their lives for future ministry and mission engagement. As One Congregation in multiple locations, Southside seeks to build our unified identity through our spiritual commitment, by developing ourselves to discipleship we can find out more about our identity in Christ and as members of this unique community in the life of our church.

Outreach

Jesus tells us that the church "is the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14).

Southside Uniting Church takes seriously this charge to be active in sharing Christ's love locally, nationally and internationally.
