We talk about Blue Care, resuming face to face worship and this Sunday.
We've gone through a lot of change this year, some of it unwanted, but we can't avoid any of it. How do we move through to find a new normal?
Given the events that are happening in Logan City and surrounds and the unknown potential of what could happen, it is with deep regret and acting out of an overabundance of caution that we have decided to not go ahead with our resumption of face to face services this Sunday. We are ever mindful of the health of our congregation and we thank you for the caution that you have shown over the past four months. At this stage there will NOT be face to face services on 2 or 9 August. We will reassess after that. As usual we will have worship online on Sunday at 9 am. We'd love you to be part of this.
We thank God for the rain that so many people desperately need.
However, this means that we have had to CANCEL our church picnic.
But please don't allow that to stop you connecting with others tomorrow.
Remember each of our communities will be having their after worship zoom catch ups.
Also, at 11:30 am you are invited to pray, from where you are, for the people who live in our suburbs and the way that God is leading us to serve them in mission. Ask God to reveal what he is already preparing for us to do, and for us to have the faith to join him in his mission.
Resuming worship, church picnics and other things that are happening in our congregation this week.
In August we are going to resume face to face worship. Worship has been a foundational practice of God’s people throughout history. It is about us giving praise to God and as we do being shaped as Christ’s disciples for mission in this world. We will never compromise on the fundamental purpose of worship, yet how we have worshipped has changed over the centuries. In these COVID19 times we have had to alter the way we worship. When we resume face to face worship there will be changes to things such where we sit, singing, touching others. There will be restrictions on numbers necessitating changes in times and venues for worship and requiring us to pre-book to attend.
But more importantly than this, we are considering how we can make our worship services more accessible for those who do not currently worship with us. As a missional church we are concerned about our friends, family and neighbours who do not find themselves part of God’s church. Please pray that we might understand what we need to do to offer others a place in our worshipping communities.
In addition to our face to face worship, we will continue to offer online worship and the provision of worship sheets.
Please see the attached worship schedule. Please note this is version two which is different from that released on Friday 17 July.
Six months after coming together, it's exciting to think how much has happened so far this year.
On Sunday 19 July 2020 an adult member of our congregation will be baptised as part of our 9 am service. This service will be online as usual. However, there is opportuntity for people to gather in person for this worship service.
